Spice up your winter with this Rooibos tea Latte from inside out & help your skin health.

Being both high in antioxidants and free of caffeine, the health benefits of drinking rooibos are similar to green tea. In addition to drinking it, there are many things you can do with rooibos tea to enhance both the natural beauty and health of your skin. Grown in South Africa, rooibos tea has long been used in traditional South African medicine, where it is claimed to treat all manner of skin problems such as acne, eczema, sunburns, itchy rashes, allergic reactions and general irritations.

Rooibos latte is the perfect hot drink for afternoons & evenings because there is no caffeine, made with vanilla extract and cinnamon to make it extra delicious.

What is Rooibos?

Rooibos is a South African herb so it's not a real tea. Rooibos means "red bush," a tisane, or herbal tea, and it's pronounced ROY-BOSS.

Rooibos is reddish brown in color and has no caffeine to make it a great evening beverage. It has very little tannin, so it won't get bitter, no matter how long you steep it for.

You can drink hot water steeped rooibos, but with milk and sugar I like it.

How to make Latte?

  • Rooibos
Loose or in tea bags. If using loose, use a tea filter.

  • Vanilla extract, milk, honey, cinnamon (optional)

  • Saucepan with a spout for easy pouring.

  • Milk frother

  • Glass mugs

The rooibos latte involves two parts. One for the rooibos and one for the milk.

Steep and combine all rooibos ingredients in a saucepan. That part takes less than 10 minutes.

The next is the frothing of the milk, a drink isn’t a latte without a nice froth.

Frothing Milk at Home for Tea Lattes

Next, in a saucepan, heat milk but be careful not to burn the milk. Simmer and swirl to prevent the formation of a protein skin on top.You have a few different options for froth milk if you don't have a milk frother.

Using a French press is another method. Hot milk is pumped with air and a good froth is produced by the French press, but If you hate having to make extra dishes its not an option to choose.

About a third of the drink is the rooibos tea with honey and vanilla extract.

You can drink the rooibos that way without adding any milk and it’s still good. The rest of the cup is filled with the milk. The recipe makes two rooibos lattes.

Top with cinnamon if you wish.

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 teaspoons loose rooibos or three rooibos tea bags
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk (I used soy.)
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Optional: ground cinnamon as topping

In a sauce pan, boil water and take off heat. Steep rooibos for about 5 minutes. Add honey and vanilla extract.
Heat milk using a milk frother.
Divide rooibos tea into two mugs. Fill to the top with milk and top with cinnamon.

I have been working on my personal recipe but mostly focused on drinking habits. I found out that there are good and bad products out there so I would like to ask your opinion about this article I found. https://redteadetox7.fitness.blog/
